Mission:The Bay Area International Deaf Dance Festival (BAIDDF) is an annual event produced by Urban Jazz Dance company that consists of performances and workshops that highlight the important contributions that Deaf and Hard of Hearing (HoH) artists make to our community.
This Year: This is the show you do not want to miss and share with everyone. This year we have many local Deaf artists, other flying in from Turkey, Costa Rica, Chile, Nigeria, South Africa, New York and Arkansas. There will be a diversity of Sign Languages including but not limited to Mexican Sign Language (LSM) and Turkish Sign Language.
The 6th Annual Bay Area International Deaf Dance Festival: Aug 10-12, 2018 Dance Mission Theater 3316 24th St, San Francisco, CA 94110 (Close to 24th and Mission Bart)
Date and Time: Fri, Aug 10th - 8pm Sat, Aug 11th- 8pm Sun, Aug 12th- 4pm ( There will be a different program for the family friendly matinee)
Workshops: We’re excited to provide Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ballet, ASL DANCE, and more different types of dance classes taught by International, Domestic and Local Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Hearing artists who sign fluently. These workshops will be taught for both Youth and Adult participants in various locations including Richmond, Santa Cruz, Oakland, San Francisco, South Bay and other parts of the Bay Area... Special Event!! Bay Area International Deaf Dance Festival Presents "Meet and the Greet Deaf Artists" PANEL/BRUNCH Saturday August 11, 2018 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Deaf Community Center 1550 San Leandro Blvd, San Leandro, CA 94577
Come meet our Deaf Celebrities, Deaf locals and Deaf International dance performers. There will be a panel with all of our Deaf Artist directors. Don't miss this opportunity to see their stories, Learn about their culture, victories and and struggle, what their identities are, there will be a few Interview Question and Answer with these amazing Deaf Artists MC'd by Convo's Karina Pederson. BONUS: Deaf Artworks will be presented for sale. EXTRA Bonus: FREE FOOD! FOOD! Fabulous delicious brunch provided by our Local Bay Area Deaf Chef Philip Smith Jr!! $5 dollars but no one turn away from lack of funding. *Donation are welcome for DCARA and Deaf Dance Festival
This a place for Deaf and Hearing - we will be learning many other language beside ASL like British Sign Language, Colombian Sign Language, German Sign Language, Russian Sign Language and more!
